FILMOGRAPHY (feature-length documentary)

Le jardin d'Ewald
(Documentary | 2015 | 60 min. | Sénégal)

The attempt of Senegalese people, to outwit one of the greatest mass murderers of our time.
Silently, insidiously and always with full force: the overpowering villain, which the Senegalese have to oppose year after year carries the name 'drought'. Drought and the disappearance of water, plants, animals and people can't be prevented, calculated or stopped. Or is there a way to defy this reality?
A farmer, an artist, a gardener and a young boy from Senegal have one thing in common: navigating every day life in one of the planet's most arid regions, where water scarcity prevails. The quest for the most effective safeguarding strategies amidst the throes of climate change and vanishing resources is already underway. This pursuit involves a delicate balance between upholding tradition and embracing innovation, as well as between rural living and the allure of urban promises.
